Panasonic to introduce “Powered by TiVo” range

Panasonic has selected TiVo’s TVOS to power smart TVs in a range of ultra-high definition and high-definition LED displays.
The Japanese electronics manufacturer becomes the sixth partner to bring TiVo on board. It’s believed Panasonic is the Japanese company that executives referred to in last week’s results announcement by TiVo’s owner Xperi.
Since the 2020 merger between TiVo and Xperi, TiVo has been on a pivot away from cable TV deployment and has evolved into an OS designed to rival Google and Amazon Fire.
Panasonic, which still has sets with both, is bringing in TiVo for its mid and entry level units.
TiVo will support the W60A series, positioned in the lower midrange, and available in 43-, 50-, 55-, and 65-inch sizes. The models also support HDR10, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
TiVo technology will also be integrated into Panasonic’s S40A and S45A models, which are HD-only and come in 24-, 32-, and 40-inch sizes.
The sets will be available in the UK later this year and join TiVo sets under the Vestel and Bush brands.
